Cardrona Alpine Resort
Set on the mountains above the Cardrona valley, Cardrona Alpine Resort is a favourite amongst families. Offering an array of terrain for beginners right through to advanced racers, it is a very popular field all winter. At the moment Cardrona has 2 x magic carpets, 2 x chairlifts and the Chondala (Chair and Gondola in one), making the snowy peaks accessible for not only skiers and boarders but also snow lovers who wish to take in the stunning view of the Southern Alps from the top without having to put on the planks. The ski field offers ski and snowboard lessons for all levels and with 5 locations to grab a drink and something to eat there is plenty of opportunity to rest those tired legs.
Treble Cone Ski field
Treble Cone Ski Field is the largest ski field in the South Island of New Zealand, offering a lift serviced vertical drop of 700m, the longest run in the Southern Lakes region. It is well known for its fantastic off piste terrain and stunning views over Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps. Advanced skiers and boarders can experience a playground of challenging powder runs featuring natural half pipes and gnarly slopes. The ski field offers 5 cafes/restaurants to choose a beverage from, whether it is a grab and go pie on your own, or a sit down and relax meal for everyone!
For all you cross - country skiers out there or all you ski-lovers who want to experience something other than downhill, then The Snow Farm is the place to go. With over 55km of groomed trails, you will never get bored of the terrain. Catering for all levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, and offering not only cross-country skiing, the Snow Farm makes the perfect location for a fun, family, winter day out. The kids will love the snow tubing and if you are feeling adventurous, chuck on some snow shoes and head out on a guided tour of the Pisa Range.
