Relax and stay a while - Training in Paradise

Training for an event? A challenge of a lifetime? Or, maybe it's your everyday job?

Wanaka, New Zealand is the ultimate training ground for anyone who wishes to push their limits or wants a relaxing setting to prepare their body for a task ahead. Located within the Southern Alps there are numerous terrains to train on from flat trails and tracks to steep mountains and rugged surfaces. The opportunity is there to maximise your capabilities or relax in a natural environment and escape into the middle of nowhere.

Wanaka has the perfect climate to train depending on what you require and is a great place to escape the Northern Hemisphere seasons -  

  • Winter provides the snow and mountains, a place to hit the slopes and work on muscles that generally don’t get used in other activities. A place to come face to face with extreme weather conditions and test endurance, persistence and stamina.
  • Summer provides hot and dry conditions, the perfect place for your body to adapt to heat and develop strategies to maintain energy levels and fluid intake.
  • Spring and Autumn are much more forgiving. Although these times of year don’t provide the extreme conditions of Winter and Summer, they do provide a comfortable training environment with cooler temperatures, blue skies and quieter roads and tracks.

The terrain that surrounds Wanaka is diverse. The roads are long and quiet (with great views), there are endless amounts of tracks, the mountains are steep and challenging and the lakes and rivers are crystal clear and inviting, the perfect training environment!

The town offers numerous amenities to enhance your training schedule including yoga & pilates classes, massage therapists, world class physiotherapists, chiropractors, fitness professionals and gyms offering various activities and membership options. There are whole food and organic food stores to buy speciality foods that provide you with the ingredients to maintain your training diet and eating regime, along with numerous dieticians, local health coaches and elite local athletes that can give you advice and information.

Release Wanaka can point you in the right direction of who or what you require and organise appointments, training sessions, gym memberships, equipment hire and specialised chefs. We can accommodate you in a luxurious holiday home where you can relax and unwind after a day of pounding the tracks. Somewhere to retreat to and evaluate your training schedule with stunning views amongst the fresh mountain air. A place you can spread out and feel at home with space for a personal yoga class or to host your training buddies and talk “Swim, Bike, Run”!
