At Release Wanaka we are passionate about our home town and sharing it with our guests - but most importantly; preserving and improving it for the future.
We are continuously looking at ways to improve the way we do business, interact and engage our guests with our environment in mind. Setting the right example from the start. Here are just a few of things we are working on:
We endeavour to run where possible a paperless office. The team is encouraged to keep everything online - utilising all the avenues available.
Online Forms - Our guests are able to provide information directly to us via tailored online information forms. Gone are the days of printing out a form, filling it out, scanning it and then sending it back.
Online Brochures - Release Wanaka markets and advertises online as much as possible. We also send out to clients and guests information about our business via the way of online brochures.
We always consider the environment before printing!
Plastic Free Wanaka
When staying with Release Wanaka you will be greeted at your luxury accommodation by not only a Release Wanaka team member but an unforgettable a bag of local 'Goodies' to enjoy.
The delicious treats are sourced from our local artisans in our community and are presented in our Release Wanaka recycled 100% recycled cotton shopping bag. We encourage our guests to use this bag while on holiday but also to take it home with them and use it again and again.
Natural and Organic Products
All our luxury holiday homes, villas and residence offer guests only 100% natural and Organic products for use during their stays. We use large format bottles which are refillable as opposed to small hotel style mini bottles which create unnecessary waste.
Release Wanaka proudly supports the use of products made by New Zealand companies in all areas - kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
Release Wanaka encourages and facilities the use of Online Heating APPs for as many of the luxury properties in our portfolio as possible.
We can control the central heating systems remotely and ensure they are functioning efficiently. It also reduces the man (and woman) hours, fuel etc to visit each property to manually control the heating systems.
By having access to properties heating via an Online APP, we simply switch on/off the heating only when needed. No wastage.
Rubbish and Recycling
Landfills around the world are being filled with items that should be Recycled.
Release Wanaka urges all our guests to recycle as much of the items they consume while staying at one of our luxury properties as possible. We ensure the appropriate recycle bins are available and we discuss with our guests when they arrive our Rubbish and Recycling procedures.
Linen & Water
Although we are situated on a vast and beautiful lake it is essential that we continuously strive to conserve water.
We offer complimentary Linen changes only for those guests staying longer than 7 nights.
Community & Local Events
The Release team are all locals who are all very community-minded. We all love to participate in any activities that we can which look to improve our town for those who live here but also for those who visit.
As a business, Release Wanaka contributes to our community sponsoring various and varied events throughout the year which involve our environment and the people in it.

We partner with local suppliers and companies within our Community to provide services to our Property Owners and to provide services to our Guests.
Release Wanaka also support local initiatives such as the Wanaka APP which we are about to be added to.
